Chairman Message

Welcome to the young department of Economics at the University of Buner. Currently, we are offering BS degree in Economics which is a unique opportunity for the students to undertake a comprehensive and wide ranging study of Economics and related subjects spread over 8 semesters and 4 years. The Degree is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Students of this department have a number of career motivations including but not limited to Civil services, NGO’s, Academia, Businessesand several others. The program aims to instill among the students the habit of enquiry and excitement for discovering wide range of knowledge and ideas. Thus equipping students a life time of rational decision making when faced with critical, demanding and thought provoking choices.

 

Vision:

We strive to be a premier source of Education, Research, and Social leadership development center in the country at large and in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular.

Mission:

The Department of Economics plans to engage people in the use of economic analysis for making rational decisions involving businesses, natural resources, making a better pool of social capital, and community development through the pursuit of learning, social leadership, diversity, professional development, and excellence.

Scheme of Studies

Currently we are following schemes of studies approved by the Higher education commission of Pakistan for BS (Hons) in Economics.

Economist Society:

The department has recently established a dedicated society “Economist Society” which is platform through which the students can arrange much needed sessions for the capacity building. The society also provides a platform through the students can pay back to the society in the form of awareness sessions related to issues faced by the society and different areas of interest.
